The Enemies Project began in 2010, founded and curated by Steven J Fowler. It has pioneered collaborative and commission-based live literature with an international focus for over 800 events in 29 countries, involving over 1500 poets, writers and artists. It has made a space for purposeful experimentation and innovation that actually reflects the chaos of 21st century life and language while maintaining a consistently open and accessible event atmosphere. It has been an origin point for three long-term and cohesive projects and festivals, linked above, while also running standalone events, all still essentially part of The Enemies Project through their collaborative and aesthetic pursuits. Below you can find current and past endeavours, from groundbreaking nationwide tours, events on neuroaesthetics and neurodiversity, longstanding international collaborations between the UK and nations around the world, as well as book tours, residencies and commissions from a global assortment of festivals.
